RECOVERY COACHING FAQ

Our recovery coaching services help you achieve your personal health and wellness goals. But, what exactly does that mean? We’ve got you covered. Below is a list of frequently asked questions about our recovery coaching services.

What do peer recovery coaches do?

Recovery coaches provide non-clinical peer support. They bring guidance, empathy, and support to people who are seeking to change the way they use alcohol and drugs. Recovery coaches help navigate the recovery landscape and find a pathway to recovery that works for the individual.

Does everyone receive the same coaching?

Our coaching is strengths-based and each person receives one-on-one services based on their individual needs. No two people are alike, and we extend that philosophy to our recovery coaching.

How is a recovery coach different than a sponsor?

A recovery coach isn’t program specific and they are open to all pathways to recovery.  All of our coaches are in long-term recovery and have received in-depth training to become an effective recovery coach.

Are your recovery coaches trained?

Yes, we employ state-certified Peer Recovery Support Specialists. You can meet them here!

How long do your coaching services last?

Recovery coaching typically lasts 12 weeks but we are very flexible based on the individual’s wants and needs.

How does recovery coaching compare to treatment?

While the goals of both are very similar, the approaches are quite different. Recovery coaching is extremely flexible, allowing individuals to stay employed while utilizing our services and working with a coach whenever they are needed, including nights and weekends. The average cost of inpatient treatment is at least $20,000. Our coaching services are more accessible and much less expensive.

How do I connect with my coach? And how often?

You can connect with your coach over the phone through text messaging and phone calls. Coaches work with individuals one to four times a week but are open to whatever works best for you.

Will anyone know that I’m using a recovery coach?

We understand that recovery is personal and privacy is extremely important to us. No personal information will be shared with anyone, including your employer.

How does the Recovree app tie into coaching?

Through the free Recovree app, you can complete daily reflections and log experiences to identify challenges and areas of personal growth over time. Your coach is able to view your reflections, helping them provide the most appropriate support and highly personalized coaching.
